£3.65million capital appeal for a hospital charity.
Support to the trust and individual major donor fundraising function in the creation and implementation of a successful capital appeal.
For this consultancy I worked closely with the existing fundraising team, both as an expert resource and as additional implementation support.
It began with a review and analysis of the proposed fundraising pipeline of charitable trusts and foundations, with additional research and identification of key funders to be approached. This highlighted the potential to use the Appeal to redefine and strengthen the charity’s relationship with some of their existing donors, but also as an opportunity to open a dialogue with some major new funders.
I worked with the fundraising team to draft an inspiring, but still factually robust, case for support, from which written applications could confidently be developed.
This required meetings with key clinical and management staff, not only to gather relevant background information, but to ensure they were fully aware of their need to be closely involved not only with the planned major fundraising approaches, but also with the follow up monitoring and reporting against agreed outcomes.
I am delighted that the appeal was successful and resulted in some important new major funding relationships for the charity.
